Can I forward Rock news to orocos-users ?

Hello everyone

I would like to set up a forward of the Rock news (from the rock blog)
to orocos-users. It is low bandwidth (a few articles here and there and
release updates).

Would that be fine ?

Since we agreed earlier that all rock users discussions would also be
on orocos-users, I see no issue, and would even recommend doing it. We
have made similar descisions for kdl, rfsm, itasc etc in the past.

Regarding the orocos.org front page, if the news item is suitable for
it, we can just promote the orocos-users forum post to the front page,
so no need to copy-paste.

Just make sure that there is sufficient context in your message. The
messages on
http://blog.rock-robotics.org are currently assuming they are being
read from the rock website...

It would even be better if these posts could somehow be linked to orocos pages??

I am not sure I understand what you mean by that. That I should
copy/paste these posts in the orocos news ?

If the news is on-topic for this mailing list, sure.

+1

We can always try it, and stop it if it doesn't work.

And the topic of the mailing list is ... orocos. Rock being
orocos-based, one could argue that it is always on-topic. The other
answer I got so far would show that this is an assumption that is not
shared by everyone.

So, since that is obviously a grey area, I would require a more specific
answer ...

Personally, I would follow that argument :-)

Mailinglists typically are rather self-organizing, and people will tell you
when postings are off-topic.
