ERF Workshop on Models and Languages for Academia and Industry

Dear all,

the following workshop might be of interest for the Orocos community.

Regards,
Nico

Call for Presentations (CfP)

1th Workshop on Models and Languages in Robotics for Academia and Industry
March 7th, Odense, Denmark
European Robotics Forum 2012
<http://www.best-of-robotics.org/BRICS-events/EuropeanRoboticsForum-worksho

Theme of the workshop:
----------------------
The theme of the workshop is to a establish a model-based development
academia/industry initiative.

Motivation and objective:
-------------------------
Currently there are many academic European projects such as BRICS and
PROTEUS whose aim is to establish model-based development within
robotics. These nascent efforts could provide the nucleus for an
academia-industry cooperative effort to foment the use and development
of Domain Specific Languages and Model-Based software development,
methodologies and standards. The precedent for such cooperation is
AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System Architecture) initiative from the
automotive industry.

We would like to present not only the above mentioned academic
projects but also any other academic approaches and industry efforts
in the field who wish to contribute in an open discussion with
interested industry parties. The objective is to discuss what we as a
robotic community have achieved at the moment and where and what can
or should be done in the immediate to near future in order to create a
viable initiative in the European robotics community.

We would like to invite speakers from academia and industry to submit
an abstract of what they would like to present and discuss at the
workshop.

During the workshop each presenter will have up to 15 minutes for
presentation.

After the presentation we will have an open forum to discuss the
presentations in the context of the workshop.

The workshop seeks contributions in two key areas:

* Sales pitch for a modeling approach that solves a problem. This
format is suggested for academic presenters.

* Problem statement where modeling might used to solve a problem. This
format is suggested for industry presenters.
