Yes. We use the OROCOS_TARGET environment variable to set what version
we want to build and/or use.

This mechanism only works properly from Orocos 2.5.0 on.

Either you use the Orocos debian packages that ship with ROS, or you
do an autoproj install, since the 2.5 Orocos debian packages, the
resulting system should be the same. So no, there _should_ not be a
problem with just adding your Orocos folder to the ROS_PACKAGE_PATH.
