IROS 2010 paper mentioning Orocos

Hello list,

At IROS 2010, there was a paper that struck my attention:

Title: Comparing Temporally Aware Mobile Robot Controllers Built with Sun's
Java Real-Time System, OROCOS's Real-Time Toolkit and Player
Abstract:
https://ras.papercept.net/conferences/scripts/abstract.pl?ConfID=31&Numb...

I wanted to bring this up to the attention of the list, because it is my
opinion that the paper (and the talk) makes an unfair comparison, and
contains statements that may harm the reputation of the Orocos project, or
at the very least transmit the wrong message to potential new users.

I would also like to clarify that I mean no disrespect to the authors, and
that I'd encourage them to openly discuss the topic on the list, in case
they follow it.

You know what to do if you want a copy of it.

Best,

Adolfo

I'd like one too, before I comment any further on this piece of
peer-reviewed science.

I have been at IROS'10 and I attended the talk. I share the opinion with
Adolfo and I am happy to elaborate this a bit more in case the authors
are on the list.

I was at the talk, too, and I raised my concerns about the comparison
with the speaker in the question time after the talk. In particular, I
thought it seemed odd to compare the real time aspects of anything
designed for real time with Player, which is not. They said that they
were looking for a software system that made real time programming easy.

Does anyone has their paper so that people not attending IROS could have
an idea on what they expose?
