Hello to all Orocos users,
I'll probably go to the conference IROS 2011 with one of my colleagues. I
found that several names I saw on the Orocos mailing list contributed to a
publication, a workshop or a demonstration of IROS 2011. Does anyone will be
actually present at the conference? If so, I would like to take this
opportunity to meet some Orocos users/developers and discuss about your
projects related to software technologies in robotics and maybe future
partnership opportunities.
Sincerely,

K.U.Leuven has five people at IROS. I won't be able to come myself,
unfortunately, but "partnership opportunities" sounds like an interesting
idea to me :-)

Although we are not presenting any paper at IROS, two persons from PAL
Robotics (myself included) will be attending the conference. The idea of
organizing an informal meeting of Orocos users/developers sounds great and
we sign up for it.
To determine how many of us are interested in attending the meeting, and to
have an idea of our availability (days that we'll be attending the
conference), I took the liberty of setting up a Doodle poll [1]. After that,
we can arrange a place/time that does not collide with major conference
events.

Hello all,
3 folks from NASA/JSC are planning on attending for at least a few days. Probably Monday-Wednesday. We're still working out the details and funding. Hope to meet you folks. We're just getting our feet wet with Orocos+ROS so getting to know other users would be great.

I am really disappointed not to be able to attend IROS this year. I also
oversee your work since some time and I would have appreciated to
meet NASA/JSC people and talk about your projects. I hope we will have the

Well, Doodle says that there's already 8 of us that will attend IROS between
Monday and Wednesday, so let's see if we can arrange a meeting one of these
three days. I'll write a private email to the people listed in the poll so
that we don't spam the mailing list with meeting details. If any of you does
not receive this private email, please drop me a line to

OK then, here it is:
So, there's 8 of us that will attend IROS between Monday and Wednesday, so
let's stick to those days. I have a preference for meeting it after the
paper sessions are over. According to [1], these are the planned evening
activities:
- Monday early evening: Welcome reception.
- Tuesday early evening-evening: Cruise on the bay.
- Wednesday evening: Evening at the museum.
I'd probably rule out Wednesday, because the event ends late-ish. Both
Monday and Tuesday seem fine, but I'm leaning a bit more towards Monday
evening after the welcome reception. Any thoughts or opinions?

Sorry to hear that Philippe. Since all the people that have added their
names to the poll are from KUL, I can just try to approach you (the KUL
folks) when I see you at the conference. If other non-KUL people sign up to
the poll, then we can come up with a more organized way of meeting.
See you there then,
Adolfo.
