soem ethercat software licensing

Hi all,
I have a curiosity about which are the legal/licensing implication on
the use of the ethercat libraries provided with orocos.
>From what i understand it needs an EtherCAT Master License to be used
(or commercialized?), that should be free of charge, and should be
obtained by Beckhoff...
Am I right?

Beckhoff has never been too clear about what they allow or not. So, it _is_
a grey legal zone.

Next week I'll go to the Beckhoff Ethercat seminary and I'll ask...

Good! Keep us informed, please. However, I have become extremely
pessimistic about your chances to get a clear answer from Beckhoff, based
on my previous experiences, and those of others who have told me about
theirs...
