Hi,
I send a patch to create some packages of the kdl suite:
liborocos-kdl1.0
liborocos-kdl-dev
liborocos-kdltk1.0
liborocos-kdltk-dev
liborocos-kdl-python1.0
They need some packages of orocos-rtt that Peter and I are creating. Howeber I
would like that the kdl developers ..(Ruben?) confirm some decisions that I
have done:
- soname -> 1.0
- version -> 1.0.0
Also I have modified the cmakelist to accomplish it. Also, it's
necessary/convenient a static versions of the kdl?
Regards,
Leo

First of all thanks for taking your time to help us to create debian
packages for KDL, I looked at the patch and have some remarks:
What's up with the copyright file, it looks very strange to me as it
does not contain the actual KDL-License, nor copyright holder.
Since the 1.0 release of KDL is not ready yet and we still expect some
changes i think it is not the best idea to give the soname and version
1.0 yet.
I will apply the patch (without the copyright file) and test it.

I think it's always convenient to include a static version of kdl in
the packages.

yes, you are right, I forget it. I concentrated my affords in another more
significant problems as the versioning and packaging.

I asked you this two weeks ago (31 october). I didn't receive answer so I take
a decision. I know that you have had wonderful news in your life during this
time so I understand it, but if the soname of kdl 1.0.0 will be 1.0, I think
that it's better to maintain it to 1.0 because it will be.

OK, so it's necessary to modify the cmakelist. Will you do that or are you
waiting my patch for it? ;-)
