The OpenRTM project
is a heavily supported Japanese open source (LGPL) project to produce
generic "RT" (Robot Technology) middleware. They know very well about
Orocos, and have been inspired, I was told by the project manager who I met
last week...

FYI, this used for the HRP2 at LAAS (the "Gepetto" research group)

And do you have some information about how they like or evaluate it?
I also know that there is a close cooperation between the OpenRTM and the
OpenHRP open source projects in Japan:
